Disable Backup Assistant

Backup Assistant is nothing but garbage, it is constantly screwing up my contacts. I've managed to only display my gmail contacts when I go the the 'People' list, but isn't there someway to completely turn Backup Assistant off!? Stopping it is no good, because it just starts itself back up in a few minutes.

Stopping it is no good, because it just starts itself back up in a few minutes.

Backup Assistant is one of the few "locked" bloatware apps so it can't be disabled. If you are rooted you can disable/freeze apps, with an app like Titanium Backup.
