I haven't been able to find a way to turn off the text to speech (TTS) prompt in car dock mode on my Droid 3.
when in car mode, I get a prompt that audibly asks me if I want my text message read. I have a choice of read aloud or dismiss. It's pretty annoying since I'd prefer NOT to get a prompt at all, and if I wanna read a text message, I can do that from the notifications bar anyway.
I've searched voice input/output settings and can't find a way to turn this "feature" off. It looks like in pre-gingerbread releases, you could disable TTS in car mode, but I see no such option now.
Any insight? Personally, I'm not a big fan of car dock home anyway. In my droid 1, I ripped the magnet out of the car dock with a pair of pliers.
With the D3, I'm trying to give car dock mode a chance since it's mildly customizable and has a cool BT toggle built in.

.....you'll still get the stupid voice prompt when you get a text though. Anything is better than the stock car home.
