Disable data on certain apps?

I recently got the samsung galaxy s2X and i do not have data, but data needs to be turned on when sending picture messages. Im not new to android, i just upgraded from the lg optimus one, and i used to have data, but now i dont. Anyways,
I was wondering if there was an app or even something thats apart of the phone that disables certain apps from recieving data while its turned on, so i dont get charged.

If anyone could help or answer my question, it would be amazing.

Are you running ICS? You should be able to turn off/restrict Background Data via Settings - > Data Usage -> App Name -> Restrict Background Data. That will prevent the app sending/receiving data unless you're actually using the app or not on a WiFi network. Does that help?

Alternatively, are you rooted? Droidwall allows you to block apps from using mobile data.
