Help Disable device buttons?

I have a rooted Honor 5x. Is there any possible way to completely disable my volume buttons? My "Volume Up" button has been broken and is constantly pressed down as turning the volume up. I already have an app called "Volume in Notification" to adjust my sound. I just want to disable the volume buttons completely.

I had to comment out the VOLUME_UP and VOLUME_DOWN lines in both the Generic.kl and the gpio-keys.kl files then reboot.
