I guess many others has posed this question at a given time:
There are apps that don't need the display active at all times, i.e. music players, GPS you name it. Plus I have a video player which I want to run without the display, as I have some videos that I'm not interested in watching the image but only listen to the audio track.
My tablet shows 98 - 99% battery drain by display, which is common sense.
So the question is:
Is there a way to disable the screen by a setting in a menu, even writing a line in a config file or by some third party app?
I haven't found anything at all. All I could find was these myriads apps that disabled the screen by putting the device on sleep, thus pausing apps altogether, defeating my purpose.
Think of the battery economy with different apps running but without the display.
I have Vonino Orin S on Android 4.1.1
