Help Disable/Re-enable Preinstalled Quickoffice

Sudenly this afternoon, when I opened PDF's via ES File Explorer the preinstalled Quickoffice took over as a default for all the PDF files, even though no default had been set. I was used to using Adobe or Kindle for my pdf's, and would select from the menu that would come up on ES.

I tried deleting and reinstalling Adobe, but I never got the menu to come up again. Finally, I disabled Quickoffice; the menu for PDF's appeared once again.

But when I went to re-enable Quickoffice, it had disappeared from the list of Apps (All Apps). I use Quickoffice on occasion to read Word documents. I've tried restarting the phone to no avail.

Any way to get Quickoffice back?

PS: I suppose I could download another app. As I did a search this afternoon, I found that the preinstalled Quickoffice tends to hijack file types on a regular basis..... for which I wouldn''t care to purchase Quickoffice Pro on general principles.
