Disable 'screen lock' for the next 3/5/15/30 mins

Simple idea:
If you toggle this function on,
Screen locking becomes active only after some delay.

After waking the phone and unlocking the screen,
for the next xx-minutes, repeated switching from sleep to awake
does not require de extra screen unlock step.

Handy when using apps that don't have 'overrule screen switch off',
Handy for those who keep pressing the wrong button,
Handy for those who use the G1 in a protective cradle shielding the touchscreen while using compass/GPS/bubble etc. etc. etc..

YES. This is be awesome, I'm sick of pressing menu twice to unlock the phone just to skip a song. This would be a great app to have.

To revive an old and dead thread, I'd also like to be able to toggle on/off the pattern lock on my Eris - but keep the regular screen lock on. Especially when riding in the car so I don't have to draw my security pattern every time I want to pause/change a song.

Not quite what I was looking for, useful though. I did find a widget to toggle the screen lock:

ScreenLock OnOff

Now I can toggle the lock pattern off when my Eris is playing internet radio in the car. Slacker Radio will keep the screen from going to sleep for me, but only when the phone is being charged.

Hi group, there's an app for this! One I wrote in fact. Please see Stay Awake at Stay Awake for Android. You can disable your screen saver for up to 1 hour, then it reverts to your previous setting.

I have an equivalent app to mute the phone ringer for up to 2 hours. More details at Mute Ringer for Android.

I'm happy to field any questions,
Alan Rovner
