disable - standard android keypad

Hi

I have an idea for a great apps, but I need to know if its possible to disable programmatically the standard android keypad.

Thank you

You mean the keyboard itself? You can replace the keyboard if thats what you mean, as for disabling that completely, how are you going to use the phone without a keyboard?

Yes I want to disable the keyboard itself,

Only when my application is running I want to disable the keyboard

Will the application allow me to do this? Are there standards or limitations in place which would prevent me from doing this?

Thank you

You dont have to "disable" keyboard if there are no text entry fields anywhere AFAIK, the keyboard only comes up when you tap one of those.

Yes I know that thank you, I don't want to give away my idea, so I can't say exactly what I am trying to achieve. SORRY

All I would like to know is are there any standards or limitations in place that will prevent me from disabling the keyboard in my app.

e.g keyboard is disabled by default and a message appears please enter verification code in app "BLA BLA", when they enter the correct code the keyboard is enabled

Is this possible and allowed?

Thank you

Ah, I see, something like a lock for the keyboard app. Good for letting people browse on your phone, since they cant troll your facebook account lol.

Sorry though, no idea on that one.
