I've searched all over the web for an app that will disable the necessity to swipe the screen in order to reach the security code PIN-entry page. There are plenty of apps that eliminate both the swipe AND the PIN, but I haven't found one that just eliminates the swipe. Does anyone know of anything? Thanks.

Tr the app "No Lock" its free and does what i think you want it to.
No, "No Lock" disables both the need to swipe AND the need to enter a security code... But thanks.

I used to use screenmodewidget on my og droid but it doesnt seem to work on the bionic. I also just want to get rid of the initial slide to open and not the screen lock.
Exactly! It's very redundant on this phone because it's unlikely that the power button (which turns on the screen) will accidentally get pushed in your pocket.

so i think this one works. "antilock" I have tried it so far and so good.
I tried that one yesterday. I think it permitted a "pattern unlock" but not a "PIN unlock."

I use the pattern lock. At first, I was thinking that I'd like the swipe-to-unlock interface removed, but then I realized that the i swipe move to silence the phone is kinda nice, and then I also realized hat it'd be fun to see a friend thinking to themselves "Hahahah, this phone isn't locked, let me see what's on it ... Doh!"

AntiLock seems to do the trick for me. I don't mind having to use the Pattern unlock instead of the PIN code. It should have the option for a pin code, but Pattern unlock is faster anyway.
I use No Lock with a widget on my home screen. It is unlocked 99% of the time.
