Root Disable Update Software Popup Notification?

I could not stand the ICS update so I rooted back to Gingerbread 2.3.6 EL29.

Has anyone figured out how to disable the popup notifications for updating to ICS?

Next time it pops up, click on "More Info" and pull your battery for a few minutes. That worked for me and many others.
 
Notification just popped up. Clicked "More Info" then took out the battery for 5 minutes. Started the phone back up and let's see how this goes.
 
I'm on stock Gingerbread and I've been turning down the ICS upgrade notification from Sprint ever since they first released it. I read that it is causing problems so I kept turning it down when the notification came up. But I worried that I might accidentally hit the update now button and wanted to stop the notifications. I just did this battery pull trick and it seems to have worked. Before I did this, I would always get the notification after I rebooted the phone. I just rebooted and NO NOTIFICATION! :-) It seems to be gone now.
