Disabling Google+ in Kit Kat

Assuming I disable Google+ what will I be losing? I never use my google+ account but I heard you cant use some of your other android apps if you disable it and automatic phone backup does not work anymor eis that true?

Your not losing anything by disabling Google+. While it will no longer backup your photos there's much better options for that. That's all it backs up. It has no impact on any other apps. So your good too go.
