Disabling gps on individual applications?

I was wondering if it's possible to disable certain applications ability to use gps? When I search for this question (here or google) I get many results on blocking applications, or turning them off completely, but nothing on just disabling the gps.

I have an lg optimus (which, apparently isn't so helpful, your website shows like 15 different kinds) and I've figured out how to disable gps completely, but I just want individual apps not to be able to access this.

Would anyone know if this is an option? or possibly an app that has that feature for me?

You have two options (that I know of):

1) You can root and install LBE Privacy Guard and disable the "Positioning" permission to the apps you do not want to have access to GPS. I recommend this because I use it, myself.

But, if you're not interested in rooting, there is a non-root alternative.

2) You can try App Shield. This app makes a 'clone' of your app without the permissions you don't want it to have.
