Root Disabling Root Check on Google Videos

Well, I went to rent a movie on the market a couple nights ago and low and behold it wouldn't let me do it because I'm rooted. I found the way around it but I'm having trouble getting it to work. They said to go here forum.sdx-developers.com/index.php?topic=16930.0 to get google videos with root check disabled and I tried both APK files (can someone explain the Mirror file?) and every time I open it and try to install it, it comes up with the error message "application not installed" and all i can do is click done. Tried it under the Dolphin HD browser. Nothing. Any help?

Hmmm. Did you read through the comments as well? Also, check to see if your market has been updated, it might be causing a problem.

Did you try the stock browser to download? Did you try the new beta .4 (some users are reporting that that one also allows downloading of files)

I read through the comments, one other guy had the same problem but nobody had anything for him. Tried it through the stock browser originally and it didn't do anything. I was thinking about uninstalling with TiBu and reinstalling the new apk or is that too risky?

uninstalling might be risky if they figure out a way to bypass that modified .apk completely.

You know what is stupid about this Google Videos blocks you if your rooted but Google Nexus phones such as the Galaxy Nexus are mean't to be rooted with a simple command the phone is rooted. Why would Google block there own phone

Umm, actually, you're wrong. They're not meant to be rooted, they're meant to be used as developer phones, by developers, to get an early start on the next release of Android.

It's hard to develop for an OS that you don't have physical access to, even with emulators.

It's easy to make that mistake - just because the rooting process is easier than other phones does not imply that the phone is meant to be rooted.

What i meant to say is that they are so easily rooted. I know no phone is made to be rooted. But still google at the same time pro and against rooting at the same time which is weird
