discounted maxx for the patient ones...

that is not accurate. pretty sure some have already received their gift card made by online orders. she was probably just trying to make a sale for herself.

non the less, my email order confirmation didn't mention the gift card and verizon canceled my order no prob. I reordered over phone and the gift card will be on its way after the 14 day cancellation term is over. Phone call worked. Site didn't work for me. And that is accurate.

I'm thinking of going the Comcast route, but do you know if it's considered buying through a "third party" like Amazon, Best Buy, etc? I was curious if there was any agreement about keeping the service on the phone for 180 days and all that. I want to order the phone on my eligible "dumb phone" line and transfer it to my line so I can keep my unlimited data, but going through the aforementioned third party vendors, I can't do it without getting penalized. I would love to save $100 and do this if I can.

I didn't have to sign or agree with anything like wirefly and amazon wanted me to do. I am going to transfer the phone too to keep my unlimited internet. If you want to wait I'll let you know how it works out.

I'm not in a huge rush, since I really want the 32GB, so I'll look forward to what happens with your situation. Thx

Got it in today, I'm going to activate it tonight on my wifes line and then switch it over to mine. I'm quite sure that I will keep my unlimited because VZ allows you to switch phones and keep your unlimited. I'll keep you updated. BTW it is ever so slightly larger than the razr maxx hd that I have now and am going to give my wife.

Ok, done. I activated the Maxx on my wifes number just to make sure everything was done correctly. Then I tried to switch phones online but it would not let me, directed me to call VZ. Called this am and rep said that "he" had to switch them because two phones couldn't have same sim card at one time. So he had to deactivate one, move it and then switch. (droid maxx has different type of sim card) All went off without a hitch and I made sure that I still had my unlimited and he said "sure do, no problem" He said that as long as I didn't use my upgrade for my phone I was fine.

my experience as well.

Huge relief and surprise.

I know @creektrails went through Comcast. @Reddog, did you get yours through Comcast as well?

I really want the 32GB, which would require going through MotoMaker (at least as it is today on AT&T), so I am wondering how/if I could do that with the Comcast deal and still get the $100 gc. I guess I will wait and find out.

Anyone know if the Comcast deal is still valid?
I don't see anywhere on the link where it mentions the $100 Visa card...

Easy way to land a free maxx.

Make sure its still $99 on Amazon, Go to Best Buy and trade ur current phone I got $140 for my Razr HD. Ohh and they are now accepting phones even if you bought it from someone else. Price match with Amazon and BAMM, free Maxx.

PS: make sure your phone is in top shape they check it good.

UR WELCOME! :D

OK, so I know this is a very old thread that I am resurrecting but I have some new, interesting information.
I originally bought my MAXX via the Comcast link noted below:

It's actually still possible to get the device for $200 after rebate. If you sign a 2-yr agreement through Verizon at Comcast, then they'll sell you the phone for $299 and give you a $100 Visa gift card. You don't need to be a Comcast or Xfinity customer to qualify.

http://www.comcast.com/wireless.html

If you are an Xfinity customer, you can do even better by electing to receive $10 off your Xfinity bill every month for 12 months instead of the $100 gift card. That will come out to a total of $120. So you'll effectively be buying the phone for $180.
NOTE: I was not, am not and have never been a Comcast/Xfinity customer.
I received my MAXX and waited for my rebate card. It never came. I called V and because the purchase was through Comcast, they could not help. I called Comcast and after arguing with them for a while (because I did not have an account number and they had no record of my name or mobile #) I finally got to a supervisor that agreed to do some research. I sent them the link above and was told that no, the rebate was only available to Comcast customers but that they would see what could be done. I tried to call a few more times after that and was always old the same thing. At that point, I basically gave up on getting the rebate. Fast Forward to now. I get back from vacation and in my mailbox I find a letter from Verizon/XFinity. Inside is a VISA gift card, $150. I call the number on the card, it is valid. I call V, they do show the card was issued but cannot tell me exactly why. I call Comcast, they cannot find anything (because I do not have an account number and they cannot locate my name or mobile #...) but am told by them, if the card was sent it was sent for a reason and to enjoy it.

So... :) :) :)
