Root Discussion on tweaks to improve system performance

Just some stuff I have did to improve performance a little.

Adreno V3 libs - I simply copied them over with a root file explorer from my sd card. Phone rebooted afterwords. (merged system folder with system, all at once. I would not risk copying files one a time, for risk of a reboot before you are done)
Disable CPU Rendering - I did this manually. Just open up egl.cfg is a root file manager and make the edit via text editor.
supercharger v6 tweaks - which was the most difficult thing (as some patching to services.jar was needed to get 100% supercharged).

Ofcourse, it is very dangerous doing some of these tweaks, with no real recovery options. I did backup my "/system" folder before I did anything just incase :)
So if you are not comfortable with ADB if something goes wrong, best not do anything to your system folder.

Feel free to share your own tweak's.

How much of an increase in speed are we talking?

A lot given anything custom in terms of alternative wise is way better than stock.Again concurring on what they said dont try anything unless you actually know what your doing otherwise you loop or birck your phone with no way to recover.Forementioned equate UI mods and only cwm will touch it given you mess up not 3e recovery nor factory resets

hey i tried flashing those v3 libs from cwm but it shows error status:0
i found some other working adreno libs. i was able to flash them from cwm. but when i go to the egl directory from root explorer, i found the old libs only and not the new ones present in the .zip
please help.!.
thanks in advance.

After rooting, I did the 3d tweak with a text editor. Then it came down to using Link2SD to free up some internal storage, and Titanium Backup to backup/freeze some apps. Even with Link2SD, I still hit a wall as to how many apps I can install. The max for this phone (with Link2SD installed) seems to be around 50-60 apps. That's about the same as my older LG Optimus V... I did try to go up to about 70 on the V, but ran into too many force close calls, so I backed off a bit. That's because they have about the same amount of system RAM (357 for the Rise, 384 for the V).

I recently installed Greenify to hibernate apps when they are not in use. That seems to alleviate some of the system RAM problems, and has reduced lockups and reboots for me. I just back out to the home screen and clear out the multitasker when I'm done. The only time I force close an app anymore is when Android sends me a message, and asks me to wait or close it.

I've also installed SD Booster to increase the system cache, to 1024 K (1 GB, split equally between 2 partitions on the SD card). That also seems to help a bit with memory issues. I realize that this may decrease the life of the SD card, as it will increase read/write access more than usual, so back it up frequently if you do this.
