Display brightness

Is there an app that will automatically adjust my display brightness based on whether or not my phone is being charged, in the car dock or on battery? I usually keep my display brightness pretty low but when I use it in the car dock, I like to have it as bright as possible. Is there an app that will do this automatically so that I don't need to change it whenever I plug it in?

Try the "automatic" setting on the power control widget.

How do you get "Automatic" with the power control widget? I get tired of adjusting the brightness using the widget, even though it is a simple thing to do, but if I am in an app, I have to go back to the home screen to get to the widget.

Its the third tap on the power control widget.

A better question and maybe it was answered elsewhere. Is there a way to get the automatic setting to do something usefull? Under high light conditions it works but under low light it takes the slider only down to about 25% of the selectable range. When you roll over at night and need to answer your phone you look at the screen and enjoy that retina roasting burn. If you override with the power bar you can go to the minimum brightness and its good but if you forget to set that before bed you are screwed. Or if you leave the house and forget to reset auto the screen is invisible outside and getting to the bar is an adventure.

I forgot about this thread. I found an app called Setting Profiles Lite. The free version gives me enough to have it set the display brightness in the car dock.
