Display brightness

It seems 0 percent is the only way to go at least for me. Finally got zeroed into good 3g battery life. Figured I would mess with the display brightness and saw a steady battery drop again. Anyone else seeing this?
 
I usually have it on auto-brightness but I have noticed that my battery life gets a little better when I leave it on zero brightness. I have a smart action set up to dim the display to zero when the battery is less than 35%.
