Help Display has stopped working when making a call!

I've got a new problem with my x10 (they seem to be never ending!)

The phone's been fine for months, and was fine last night when I made a call.

This morning I got up and made a call and the screen went off although I could still hear the dial tone. Weird, I thought. And when the call finished the display came back on. I restarted the phone thinking it just needed a reboot, but the same happened again. When dialling a number the display just goes off completely! Sometimes it does not come back after the call has ended until I start pressing the power on the top of the phone a few times.

Why would this just start happening randomly? I've even pulled the battery and nothing has changed. I don't think it's a hardware issue as the display and phone works fine otherwise!

Any ideas guys and gals?

Well this is embarrassing, and now solved.

My phone's screen protector that I had applied had lifted slightly at the top without me knowing or really paying much attention to it. So therefore it had got a bit dusty underneath and was covering the sensor that turns off the screen when the phone is being held by your ear! Crazy stuff lol.

Glad to hear it was not any major fault with the device. :)
