Display question for S3 owners

I want to have a device that hits the sweet spot between phone and tablet--or at least makes browsing feel not quite as constraining as on 3.5 -4.3

Coming from the 3.7" screen of the Desire, yes it's a drastic improvement. Although I liked having access to the internet on my desire should I need it, I wouldn't use it that much due to the small screen real estate.

The S3 is much more tempting to use to quickly browse for something if the phone is at hand (which it always is) rather than drag myself to my desktop, which I would have done before. Typing is faster for me on the pc because I touch type, and I have a nice big monitor so it's not really comparable to the desktop experience, but the size of my phone's screen is no longer a hindrance, and is far more amenable to extended use.

The larger size means it is easier to see the display, and higher resolution means it shows more of the webpage in a given screen space without having to zoom too much, so it is much better.

I browse on my S3 far more than I did on my Desire. It's not a replacement for my PC though.

Trust and believe once you go bigger you can never go back. I am getting the GS3 and have been privileged to use the Note and HTC EVO 4G LTE as well as the One X and having that larger screen just makes a HUGE difference. Especially when it comes down to viewing webpages, reading and just having more front screen real estate where you don't feel you have to hold the phone super close to your face in order to see. Plus IMO it just feels better in the hand, and generally you get a LOT more attention with a nice size phone, and you know what the ladies say...... Size does matter LOL. But if I were you I would definitely get a GS3 Plus a lot of people may debate me on this but I LOVE Super Amoled when compared to LCD or LCD2 because it just has so much more punch to it. Not to mention you can adjust the GS3's feel with its color display options.

I went from galaxy s2 (4.3") to s3 (4.8"). The phone is still usable with one hand other than when I want to reach the top left hand corner. It's doable but a bit awkward. I'm right handed.

The huge bright screen is one of the main reasons I bought the phone. Its amazing :D

I am used to the original EVO 4G with a 4.3 screen. I thought it was awesome going online and browsing, videos etc. The last 2 years, i pretty much used my phone for surfing internet. Unless I sat down with a mission, everything and anything i need to search I used my phone. I have a little experience with the 4.7 inch as I played wiht my friends EvoLTE. All I have to say is, if you think 4.3 was awesome, 4.7 is even better. I can pretty much see myself using that for 90% of the internet browsing/surfing. By the way I am like 6'5 with big hands, so these phones don't seem to big for me. So I especially love that I don't have those holding the phone problems.

I generally prefer smaller phones so was hesitant getting the htc desire 2 years ago and even more hesitant getting the s3 now but by golly going back to smaller screens after the s3 feels so weird. Like going blind. There is even a desktop view option in the browser. Screen = sweet

Lol, I remember when I got my desire and some of my friends thought it was a bit of a brick. And now it seems to have shrunk.

I had a 4s and then went to a nexus and razr maxx and would never go back down to the tiny 3.5 screen. The larger screens display a lot more and just makes it a better browsing experience along with other things IMO. I also went into an at&t store the other day and played with the one x and note and to me the note isn't really to big either. I am not a huge guy( 5'8) and yes the note was big but the screen was amazing and with the bezels continuing to get smaller and the screens getting larger we are going to soon have phones with 5+ inch screens in the same or very close to the same size as the current 4.3-4.8 inch devices.
