Display virtual network name

Hello everyone. I've unlocked my X10i from T-Mobile and my giffgaff SIM works but the phone displays O2 UK. I know giffgaff broadcasts on O2 and I know it's a bit picky but is there anyway that I can get the screen display to show giffgaff? When I unlocked my Nokia E63 from Virgin it showed giffgaff straight away. Do virtual networks show on Android? Any ideas? Thanks.

For me, it shows the network name I connect to.

I do not have my phone unlocked, but when I am in some parts of the city it says ROGERS, and in other parts of the city it says Rogers Wireless.....I can select other carriers as well in the Select Network Operators section in the Wireless->Mobile Networks.

I bet there is an app that will let you change it. But it appears that you can't change it with the generic setup.
