DIY Upgrade from Eclair to Froyo

Hello guys!

I noticed there was an answer to my question but it was for a Samsung phone.

I recently got myself a Nova. I don't know what this phone is named internationally but a friend mentioned that this is made by "foxconn"? Not sure about the spelling.

Anyways, my question is, would it be possible to upgrade to froyo doing it myself even if the manufacturers decide not to release an official upgrade in the future?

A simple "yes" or "no" would be sufficient for the moment.

You could root and install a froyo rom, if there is one available for that model. Check the phone's subforum on xda and see what roms are available.
