Help DNA won't stay connected in diagnostic mode!

I'm able to connect my phone in diagnostic mode to my pc, but it only stays connected AT MOST for 10 seconds. It loses connection, and i then have to unplug and re-plug the phone back in. It does this everytime and i can't do anything with my phone unless i get it to connect properly. Am i doing something wrong, or is this a software defect? Thank you in advance.

Do you have the developer options for the USB Debugging and stay awake turned on and your wifi turned off? If not, that can be part of your issue. If your device screen times out the system goes into a "sleep" mode just like a computer and it cannot perform any functions while in this mode. Try that an see if it helps.
