Do any of you M8 owners use it with a Samsung Galaxy Gear Watch?

hi guys the only thing putting me off of moving from my note2 to an m8 is that my galaxy gear (original, not v2) wont work straight out of the box. I've read one post about manually installing an apk and changing the file extension yada yada.. it sounds rather complex but what I can't find out is other than s-voice and weather, which features do NOT work with the m8. I only really use it for the notifications so I'm keen to know if it'd work but can't find anyone who has both!

Please let me know if you have a gear and an m8 or know anyone that has both!

i hope so as i'm having a nightmare trying to get this thing working with the htc one m8.. followed the online guide but ended up having to totally restore the phone
