Do Games/game apps use data?

Hello, sorry if I've posted this in the wrong place. I have three quick questions about game apps and playing games on my phone (Samsung Galaxy Ace II), as I'm relatively new to smartphones and brand new to games and apps.

1) Will most games/apps with ads use my data?

2) I want the game Country Life. Will it use my data?

3) I want Supergnes. Will playing roms on it use my data?

Thank you in advance for any help.

1) yes
2) dont know , check app permissions. if it lists data usage on there - then yes.
3) no

If you're concerned about a game eating up your data, turn off mobile data before playing. Of course, this might stop some games from working properly but I've only ever had that happen with one game (Grumpy Bears).

Yes as I developer I can say games and apps use data , but more importantly I will explain why.

1) To see how many people downloaded, installed, and kept the game or app on thier device.

2) Some games and apps have ADs , these ADs use data in order to show on the screen.

3) IAP , some games and apps have in game stores where you can purchase item, this also needs data.

4) Location apps also use internet connection, if there is none some really good ones can run offline.

There is more reason's but thats a basic few to get you started.
