Do I have a case for being overcharged?

I have a family shared plan that includes my mom. She has an LG EV3.
A few years ago we were told that ALL multimedia phones had to have a $10 data plan. Even though she absolutely uses no data, I was told we had no choice. So I've been paying the $10 ever since.

I recently found out, talking to a Verizon rep, that this rule doesn't apply anymore. He removed the $10 data from my plan. But I've been paying for YEARS because they made me add it.

I want to call back and ask for some kind of credit. If they made me add it when it was manditory, they should have removed it when they changed their policy on this.

Do I have a case to get some kind of credit? Or is this just the way it goes?

If i hadn't called, I would still be paying those $10 unnecessarily for who knows how long...

I don't think you have a case to be completely honest.

That being said, calling doesn't hurt and you may get a rep who agrees and understands and can do something for you. Doesn't hurt to try. :)

Doesn't hurt to ask. If they say no, well you're right where you are now anyway.... But they might say yes. Then you gain. So you have nothing to loose by asking.

Good luck,

You'll probably have to escalate it to a supervisor FYI - the regular reps are probably not allowed to authorize things like this.
