Root Do I need gapps?

I have been looking at putting the AOKP rom on my captivate. I'm rooted and currently running CM9 on my Captivate. I was wondering if I need to install a gapps.zip file after the AOKP.zip file. If I do, where do I find it?

Thanks for the help.

P.S. I know that I need a new phone but I am waiting to move before I upgrade.

Yep, you'll need the gapps. Generally, the google apps packages are never included on AOSP ROMS. You can download them from here: Goo.im Downloads - Browsing gapps
