do i need to upgrade the ROM ?

on saturday the 3rd i got a htc hero from t-mobile on contract, since then a ROM has been released

on the phone the build number is 1.76 110.6 146733 CL47214release keys

the question is do i need to upgrade the ROM on it ?

yep, you can download it from the tmobile site and the build number should change to 2.73.110.26

on mine all the lag has gone, the phone is really fast, i can't comment on signal, as i always have 5 bars on tmobile in my area but internet browsing speed has shot up.
 
Best advice for signal I have ever been told for this phone is to make sure your hand isn't covering the bottom chin part...

As a little test, when you hold it normally and have no signal, hold it by the top edge and see the signal spring to life ;)

very annoying I must say.
