Do I really need all those folders?

I plug my Droid into my computer and get the following list of folders;

.android_secure .FontCache .mmsyscache .PrintTmp .quickoffice .taggedFriendPhotos .tempPath .torque Alarms Albums aloqa amazon Android ApplifierVideoCache aquery bluetooth burstlyImageCache burstlyVideoCache Data DCIM Download downloads droidhen epocrates GlucoseBuddy kenwood.dap kindle LOST.DIR madden12 mailbox media Messaging mobile MOG Movies Music Notifications PI Pictures Playlists Podcast Podcasts Ringtones slacker smart-tools VaultService VCast VMM

Some are obvious like Pictures, Ringtones etc., but do I really need to have all of them?

A lot of those look like directories created by apps. If you use the corresponding app then yeah, you probably need the folder.

Which ones are you unsure about?

They aren't doing any harm if that's what you mean and if they aren't being used they aren't using up storage :thumbup:

I know it is most of them. Its just annoying when I have to scroll through superfluous folders to get to the one I want.

Or you will lose data if you delete them (if you can - some are system folders which can't be deleted without root, and shouldn't be deleted at all). Of course if any are from apps you no longer have installed then you can just remove those.

Look for a setting in your file browser that shows "hidden" files and unselect that. Then the ones starting with "." will be invisible to you. Otherwise as far as the system is concerned these are all equal, and it has no way of knowing which one you want.
