Do Not Auto Update mysteriously Changing

ScandaLeX

Wasn't Me
I wasn't quite sure where to post this thread since I don't know if what I need is help, support or just want to complain. ;)

I have "auto update" apps unchecked yet recently I've noticed I have apps auto updating and I'm thinking THAT'S not supposed to be happening. I check my setting and update over wifi has been enabled.

I guess my question is how and why does this keep changing from do not update to auto update without me actually going in and changing the setting myself????

No one other than myself uses my phone so as much as I'd like to blame it on someone else--I can't.

The Play Store auto update menu setting is independent of some app/widget menu settings. You have to go into each app/widget to be sure they're set to not auto update (if the apps/widgets in question have that menu item). :)

That post is a request for support, it appears. :D

Not sure if it applies to you, but the previous Play app update changes the Auto Update option back to the default "Auto Update apps". It was awful and updated about 30 of my apps when all I wanted was to update "Play" store app. Just google "Play store app update changed setting".

I'm referring specifically to play store. The setting in there is to not auto update....period. I've never had any app(s) updating on it's own.
When I set my back into settings it was no longer set to not auto update do how would that change on it's own?
This isn't the first time; just the first time I'm posting posting it.

Well, if the Play Store app is malfunctioning, I'd do the same thing as any app that was malfunctioning: go into Application Manager and clear cache and data then reboot the device. ;)
