Do those power saver apps really work?

I was wondering if apps like Juice Saver actually work? The Verizon guy told me their more trouble than their worth.. But I trust him as far as I can throw him.

i use stock power saver to activate at 70% and it takes a noticable hit and yes, juice saver doubled my old allys battery life

Also if you have less than 40 bucks get an OEM extended battery but never a non-OEM the results could be horrible
