looking at getting into the whole wifi sync my music thing.
of course, i'd like it to be free but have yet to find anything that is free.

any ideas?
how does the double twist wifi sync work?

Personally, I dislike doubletwist because you can only sync playlists, aka the updated iPhone sync model, I guess. You can't sync albums.

I use SwiFTP, free, makes the phone a wireless network drive, and drag and drop what I like.

TBH I've never seen the point of this Wi-Fi music syncing thing. I just plug phone into the computer's USB and drag 'n' drop MP3s, no extra software needed. I have to plug the phone into the computer anyway to charge it. To me Wi-Fi syncing music with whatever software, is going through hoops for no apparent advantage. But then I've been using MP3 players for 10 years now, long before this concept of syncing music was even dreamed of.

well i pulled the trigger on the airsync thing with double twist and its works great!
its not free like the winamp alternative but i read a lot of people having trouble getting winamp to work with the wifi, hence the 15 steps on their homepage.

ah well. 4 bucks, can't complain.
thanks everyone for your input!!

Should of tried Wifi File Explorer, I think its like $1.xx and i love it, works great. Very simple and easy to figure out. Its sets up a http server through your browser so you can go from comp to phone or phone to comp

I use iSyncr paired with iSyncr WiFi - versions for Mac and PC. Syncs any and all of my iTunes playlists including smart playlists that DoubleTwist doesn't do. I've had no issues with it and it works flawlessly.

It just comes down to convenience.

For me - plug into my laptop, no problem.

For my wife - she either gets to plug into my laptop, one of our servers, or the HTPC (that is also her big-screen PC).

None of the crawling around or us running yet one more wire has been appealing to her - she's done that for some time.

So, we hit on the wireless idea - we don't sync, still drag and drop - but the whole wireless thing does add some convenience at the expense of speed. I liked it so much, I joined in.

Android's all about choice, and whatever reasons each of us have to do this via wireless, I just think it's cool that we can.

Plus - stuff like SwiFTP is free - how cool is that?
