it occured to me that its not obvious that the bootloader thread could contribute to unbricking dead erii,so i thot i would put this up,just in case we maybe can save a couple more. 
if you have an eris that wont boot and wont take an RUU,and we were unable to get the s-off hboot onto your phone to resurect it,post up!
we have new strategies that can possibly bring it back using htcdev's unlockable hboot.
