Do you have an Android Family?

AmneonX

Android Enthusiast
I was wondering, how many of us have actually drawn a good portion of our family into the Android Universe.

I myself, I have a Motorola Droid X, and a Samsung Galaxy Tab.

My wife and mom both have original Motorola Droids.

My little sister, and one of my cousins have HTC Droid Incredibles.

My older sister has an HTC Evo 4G.

My wife's little sister lives with me, and we are thinking about getting her an Android phone as well.

So how big is your android family?

When I first got my Eris, i got one for my wife also.
Within a week she told me to take it back. She didn't like android (she's had an iTouch for years)
She said she would wait for the iPhone and has patiently waited.

Next month there will be an iPhone in the family

I'll have to find a good iPhone forum since I know I will have to be the one to set it up with her music and whatever else needs can be done to iPhones.
Hoping to become a guide on that side also :p

My mom refuses to get a smartphone. This is probably for good reason. She barely succeeds in making calls with her dumb phone. Girlfriend and I just switched from iOS to Android. Her sisters' plans are up in June and I think she is trying to talk them all into some less expensive android handsets too! :p

Modmyi is probably the best there is. Watch for the Android trolls though. There are TONS of them (just stay out of the news sections where the topic has to do with android vs ios)

I have a HTC Legend and my Mum has a HTC Wildfire, which my brother really likes and so he wants one too now. I have also convinced 4 friends and colleagues to go HTC. I make it my business to spread the Android love! :)

LOL. My mom had the original Motorola Razr V3M(Circa 2005) before she got her Droid, 6 months ago. She has since fell in love with the Droid and the Android platform. She uses the navigation and all the feature.

Thanks, I'll check it out.

By the way, although no family members have droids, I did influence 2 co-workers into upgrading their crackberries... both have the X.

Just my dad has an android (HTC Incredible), but I will be getting one very soon. My younger brother would probably get one in like a year or so when is 2 year upgrade comes around.

EDIT: my cousin and her fianc

I tried hard to convince my wife to switch from iPhone 3G with me to Android. No deal! She switched to a Razr phone (yay!) then an iPad (Nooooo!). :(

I have an Evo 4G, my fiance had a Samsung Moment, but because it sucks and had nothing but problems I did a warranty replacement on it and she just received her LG Optimus S which runs great, my brother HAD an Evo but now has a Samsung Focus (no!), but he's waiting on the Jew Androids that will hit AT&T. My fiance's brother has a Samsung Moment, there are NUMEROUS colleagues at work that I talked into getting Android.

Next up, my dad, and my fiance's parents.

I have a G2, my father has a Mytouch Slide, and my brother is still clinging on to his G1. My mom still sticks to her old flip phone.

It's just me for now. Pretty much everyone in my family still uses blackberries. I'm trying to convert them and see the error of their ways.

Right now I'm working on it. I have an Evo, my son is running with my old Samsung moment (with strict instruction to never connect to Wifi, and so far that has been an acceptable means of preventing the airplane mode issue...). And now my wife is eligible for an upgrade from her current Blackberry to what will either be the Evo or the Shift. The rest of the family is operating dumb phones, aside from my mother, whom I am trying to convert (shouldn't be that hard, she rabidly hates her windows phone.):o

My wife and I recently moved from iPhone 3Gs's to Samsung Mesmerizes. I love Android a lot more. I miss the music management of iTunes/iPhone, but using double twist isn't horrible (but pretty close). Other than music management and the lack of a good facebook app I only see things as better with Android. I just converted my sister as well, she's picking up an Android phone today. I kinda feel like I should sell cell phones or something - I converted another friend and his wife as well as another friend of mine. I have another friend who is planning to make the switch in the next month or so. Maybe I should just buy stock... :)

(All on release day, all switched from horrific AT&T service)

And everyone loves them, even the technophobe inLaws.

Not to mention getting the boss to switch our 4 person IT dept from iPhones to Droid X's, the numerous other co-workers I've convinced or helped convince, and others.

I'm the opposite. Everyone in my family has iPhones. I'll be the first to jump ship when the Atrix comes out. My brother will check out the Atrix when i get it and see if he wants to change.
