I had a blackberry until I got the EVO Shift earlier this week.

There are a couple of features I miss about my blackberry. Maybe I'm just overlooking the setup on the EVO.

1 - Auto On/Off. I want it to go off at 10:00 each night and come back on at 6:00 each morning.

2 - I want to be able to have more "tones" for my texts/emails. There are very FEW options.

3 - I want more profiles that there is now..... normal, silent and vibrate. The additional one I want is for it to vibrate only for SMS/MMS when on silent. It seems it's all vibrate/silent/normal. There doesn't appear to be a customization.

Any ideas????????????

If you download "sound manager" from the market, you can set multiple times for each sound, ie. alarm, ring, notification, system, etc. and turn vibrate on/off in each. It also gives you a widget "ring mode" that you can select "vibrate only". I know, not the same as turning the phone auto on/off, but if you are on the charger at night, it controls sound/vibrate.

I believe your e-mail tone is the "notification sound", set up in settings/sound&display. Then set text sound from within messages/menu/settings/notification sound.

If you were asking about different tones for different contacts, I don't think you can.

If you connect to your computer, and create folders on your sd card: media/audio/alarm,notification,ringtone, then put your favorites in each of the three catagories, they will show up for use. zedge.com has millions of alerts and ringtones. I download to pc from zedge, then drag/drop into the folders on my sd card.

All this is from Hero experience, the Shift is soon to come, but I believe it all works the same. If not, someone jump in here, and help out, cause I'll be getting a Shift soon.

Hi. This one is pretty easy. Launch People, select a contact, and the set the ringtone to something other than default.

If you have .mp3s on your phone, you can launch the music app, select the .MP3, click Menu and assign the song as a ringtone for a specific contact. Even better, you can trim the song prior to saving it as a ringtone. That's *very* cool.

Actually, you can set non-MP3s as ringtones too, but you can't trim them.

We use Aru Ringtones to access a wide variety of ringtones - when you find one you like, you can assign it to a particular contact from within Aru --- VERY convenient.

Assign one ringtone for all of my contacts? I have an HTC EVO SHIFT. I was able to do this with my last 2 EVO's, but this new one will not let me. I thought maybe I over looked something, but I didn't. It's driving me nuts. I would honestly like to set one ringtone for all of my contacts, well except for those I have assigned a ring tone to. Any helpful info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
