Do you know of any retailers selling this at the $149 point?

I'm considering this phone, but I would like to get it for $149 instead Of $249. Or, do you know of any retailers that would price match it straight from the vmusa.com website? Thanks!

Depending on the associate that you speak with both Radio Shack and Best Buy are pretty good with price match. Target seems to be more hit or miss.

I would try Radio Shack. Back when the phone was $300 and was on sale for $270 at the VM website, I actually got it for $220 at Radio Shack.

Hey landonh12,
Got mine at Best Buy. I called them yesterday and asked if they would price match the VM online price and they did. So happy with this phone coming from the Elite.

You two Elite alums.. I'll be pming you on christmas or the day after to get me started with custom recovery, root, and roms.. I've been poking around here and I see Leslie has done some stuff with this thing and that the process with getting into recovery and flashing roms is a bit more complicated. Thanks for the suggestions, ill relay these to my parents! Cheers!

It took me a couple of hours of careful reading to root, custom recovery, S-Off and Leslie's "Fix everything by turning your phone into an Evo 3d". LOVE IT!
Feel free to hit me up if you have any questions.

Yup same here ...... don't get discouraged if you cannot get PRL .... I couldn't, but everything works great anyhow.

Myself coming in with 10 years of swapping prl's and others have posted that it's the most work for the least (if any) benefit. Ymmv

I would just order it from the vmusa site. Its at $150 and free shipping for a few more days. Ive found their shipping to be super fast (2-day).

You'd almost have it by now if you ordered when you asked the question ;)

I honestly don't know how it would be bought. I'm 15 so I'm gonna see what my parents do. I'll definately be here or the galaxy reverb or one v forums.

I was also stuck between the Reverb and the Evo V, but I'm immensely thankful that I chose the Evo instead. Though following Leslie's guide was time consuming (I suggest watching the video simultaneously, that helped a lot), it was well worth it. In fact, I was thinking about posting an ad on Craig's List for assistance with a pay of $30 or so, but I'm glad I didn't because now I know how to do it and could literally do it again in about 30 minutes as opposed to the initial (literally) 7 hours it took to get root, S-off, and unlocked. In closing, I am now running MidnightRomS and the phone is fast as can be, not to mention I have better service in the casinos then most of my contract designated peers. This, of course, is only after flashing the Hboot and new PRI/Radio, which is supposedly fixed by the new OTA update anyway. Mind you, my HTC Evo V 4G is an upgrade from an LG Shine, which came out in 2007. Point in case is that even though rooting and such may be a bit of a hassle the first time, it is well worth it as I now have a solid foundation of knowledge for Android phones, including the rooting process, forum lingo, etc. May sound lame, but I don't care. Don't get the Reverb. I LOVE MY EVO!
