im might get this phone and ive herd it had bad battry life how long dose your razr have battty for
please respond will be very helpfull:D

BTW : im talking about the regualer razr not the maxx
 
The battery life of the RAZR will depend on how you use it. How much do you "play" with your phone during the day? I've had days where I was at 70% after 10 hours. I've had other days where I needed to recharge after 8.
 
I just got the RAZR two days ago. I am not sure just yet how the battery really is. I am still in the playful testing stage. I had to charge it twice yesterday. lol. Once my battery is conditioned and I don't have it on most of the day I hope that my battery lasts through out the day. As far as the phone goes, I love it. the 4G is amazing. I got 20mps download speed compared to 300kbs download in the same spot on 3G. When I skip a song on Pandora, I don't have to wait almost a minute for the next song. It goes almost instantly into the next song. I have had the Droid X, Droid X2, Droid 3 and now the RAZR. The RAZR is by far the best phone I have ever had. If you can, I would get the MAXX. Same phone bigger battery. Who wouldn't want that?
 
The battery life isn't bad! I unplug it from the charger at 520am and recharge it at around 6pm! And this is with constant usage! Not bad I must say!
 
Had mine for about a week. Before this phone I had the DX with extended battery, and honestly I'm not noticing that much of a difference. The phone itself is an absolute beast, but if battery life is a real concern, then I say go for the MAXX. Whichever one you choose, you will not be disappointed.
 
best phone ive ever had. top to bottom. turn gps off, keep the screen light fairly low, you'll never have a problem. if you use it a lot, get the MAXX.

again, best phone EVER and im known as someone who goes through a lot of phones.

the next phone i get will be water proof (step above the razr) not because of the processor, thats it.
 
as long as I don't spend a couple hours watching movies or playing angry birds. GPS drains too but 100% of the time I use GPS is when I'm driving so I keep it plugged in to car charger.

I've had the original droid, the droidX and my wife had the htc Rhyme and the Razr is our favorite android phone so far.
 
I'm mixed on the phone. The battery life is fine for my local environment where I check email a few times and occasionally have an hour conversation. In that environment it tends to last 36 hours on a charge. However, when I travel and am stuck at the airport or in a low signal area the battery sucks - I can chew through 70% of a charge in 5 to 6 hours. There are a few other things I sort of dislike but I'm not sure if it is the phone or verizon (voice quality is inconsistent in my home turf and I never had that issue with my old phone on sprint - but that was a flip phone) - also there seems to be frequent issues of signal loss for no reason at all (I presume it is the stupid authentication issue).

Anyways I'm kind of unhappy with how they rolled out the larger battery (Maxx) afterwards with no upgrade paths as well as some of the vz bloat apps; so I'm leaning towards the galaxy s 3 or galaxy note (which to be honest might be a bit too large) as an upgrade path in 6 months. Not sure if I will stay with VZ or switch back to sprint (yea yea sprint has a sucky data network).

The reason for the switch would in part be to due to the inconsistent signal issues but also I'm a bit unhappy with VZ corporate approach (for the life of me I do not understand why I cannot disable their backup app - i guess they figure it is absolutely critical that they have a copy of my contacts whether I want them to have them or not).
 
Its not so much that it has bad battery life...its that you cant add to it with spare batteries. Battery life is comparable and in some cases better than other LTE phones on Verizon, not counting the Maxx of course...lol.

What I will say is if I had known....I woulda waited for the Maxx.
 
Yea I would say with me actually using the phone, using lte.. 12 to 16 hours is my average.

I haven't really used it on 3g only.

I'm not a technical type person when it comes to cell phones. Just like the practical use for talking, e-mail, messaging, & occasional web browsing. Compared to two of MetroPCS's Android phones, the RAZR needs much improvement.



You would think it would be a clear winner, right ? NOPE. Compared it to two of MetroPCS's phones, and MetroPCS's Admire and Attain were better in most ways. After only 25 minutes of use:

BETTER
• I could actually dictate a telephone number in the TO field of a new message, and it appeared ! Cannot do that on the Attain nor the Admire. Hope MetroPCS fixes this issue to incorporate speech to numbers in the TO: field on all their Androids.
• Seemed to surf faster, but the videos did not load. Maybe that's why disney.com took four seconds on the MD, but 16 seconds on the Attain. With non-embeded content this Razr was faster than those two Metro phones.
• Voice quality slightly better than the two Metro phones
• Amazingly lightweight yet a larger screen
• Took pictures faster... less delay than Metro. Maybe 0.25 seconds compared to one second on Metros.
• Keyboard had large pop-keys like the iPhone

WORSE OR UNACCEPTABLE
• The dial keypad was not as good at the Attain, but better than the Admire. These manufacturers need to fill the button space with the numbers and letters.
• The lower buttons were not illuminated and the emblems were not easy to discern. Stupid design.
• The unlock was that silly dedicated tab swipe found on the Admire.
• USB charging port is at the top. Stupid.
• Display date in very small text, much much smaller than the time.
• Two callers reported a reverberating sound
• I have large hands, yet the width of this unit made it very uncomfortable to hold. Really disliked the "form factor"
• At maximum brightness on all three units, the MDR had a slight bluish cast to the white background of webpages
• To redial a number, it took one extra button press compared to the two Metro phones
• $200 and then $90/mo. access then data $30-$80 for 2GB to 10GB. Two year contract with early termination fees.
• As with the Admire, one cannot wake up the Razr by the lower buttons as you can on the Attain. On the Attain, anyone of the lower buttons wakes up the screen.
• To create a new message, one must press a small + sign at the top right Stupid. Look at both Metro phones, the Attain and the Admire, and you'll see this a large bar across the entire top, and pressing anywhere on that bar gives you a new message screen. Great !
• The Razr did NOT have Visual Voice text translation like the Attain. It is simply not available.
• The white dots to change screens is crowded at the top. Silly GUI. It was nearly impossible to reliably hit one of the dots, and it was annoying to cover up the screen when doing so, The Admire has the best interface with a nice large separate areas at the lower parts of the screen, so you don't have to cover up the screen with your hand when scrolling, and the two areas are easy to hit on target.

SAME AS METRO
• No hard-wired camera shutter button. One has to press a dedicated area on the screen.


SUMMARY: I would not get this Motorola Droid Razr, but it's fast and has a large screen.

These all seems to be personal preference issues. So for you, the Razr is probably not the ideal gadget.

No, none of them are and frankly a number of then should be considered user errors rather then issues with the phone. You don't like the phone, fine. That's your right. That doesn't mean its a bad product.

Never said it was "bad", it is just in severe need of many improvements. Not denying a few might be user errors or inexperience, but you could list for us which ones are errors.

Usually members who own a certain phone vigorously and unreasonably defend it... until they change phones. Then the truth comes out. It's like a marriage. A husband will say nice things about his wife until dissolution. LOL.

Which ones were user errors ? Spell them out, please

There are several options available for visual voicemail. There is a paid Verizon service, Google Voice, and multiple other choices.

I have no idea what you are talking about with the "white dots to change screens" I don't see that on my phone (I believe that you're talking about ADW or another aftermarket launcher). Anyways, you can also change screens by swiping left or right, or zooming out and selecting the screen you want.

The Dialer, and just about every other GUI feature you mentioned, are changeable. If you don't like the stock one you can find one you like better.

You don't really need to discern the buttons on the bottom at all (although I agree the light sensor that controls the lights is a little wonky). Unless you are the most hen-pecky typist on Earth, after 2-3 hours with the phone You'll have the muscle memory to find the button you're looking for without looking.

I'd like to know which of the issues you cite are (in your opinion) design defects?
 
I love my Razr. Its by far the smoothest phone I've owned. every action is fast. the display is gorgeous, the camera is OK but not the best, but it does take pictures very fast. My rezound takes better pictures, but takes forever to get the shot off sometimes. I love the size and even with the original razr, not the maxx, I still get 12-16 hrs on mostly 4g everyday. And its a MOTO so you KNOW its got excellent reception.

They are listed above, and most cannot be modified. On a second day trial, the voice quality was better on the Admire than the Razr. The dots are those white spots which will change the icon set. It's too hard to touch them without launching an app. Silly design, as is that dedicated tab swipe found on the Admire, but not the Attain. I'm not addressing modifications, but taking the phone as it comes out of the box. There's no way you can correct= the partial list of problems above. Even the sound volume and clarity was not as good as other phones, and the screen was not a bright as the Connect. I like the way the $60 Admire wakes up with the press of any one of five buttons, whereas the Attain and Droid are limited to the power button. The Razr is just too wide for most people.

I will agree that these all sound like personal preferences.
 
I really don't want to keep debating this, since that won't accomplish anything. I just want to make a quick point...

Would you buy a computer, and then return it because you don't like the stock wallpaper image, or because it can't read/edit word documents out of the box? No, that's silly. When you buy a computer, you have to setup the computer how YOU want (not some engineer working for the OEM). The same idea applies for android phones, you have to set them up the way YOU want it. It's not an iPhone, where the company has decided the proper way a phone should look, and that is you're only option (unless you want to start hacking/jailbreaking). 9 times out of 10, with an android device if you don't like something you can change it (generally without even rooting).
 
If applicable, your analogy sounds exciting. Please educate. Explain how what I view as deficiencies can be corrected as described.
