Do you still watch television?

Wait. Clarify the 'et al' part because, well, I stream everything to my TV but it's real TV. As real as TV is today anyway, not sure you're going to find someone with an OTA rabbit earred get up and turn the dial to one of three stations TVs ;)
I have 29 OTA channels to watch from if I'm not streaming from my phone/tablet to TV

When selecting t.v., do you prefer like shows that has a massive fan base, or small indies?
I like what I like--screw what anyone else thinks! :o

You're never going to catch me watching anything with a Kardashian in it, and I don't care how many people do. Same for a lot of other shows, popular or not.

On the other hand, I'll watch something that, for whatever reason, doesn't have a huge fan base, like Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, yet is funny, quirky, original and speaks to me somehow--and the critics adore.

My all-time favorite TV show, St Elsewhere, was a critical success, but barely survived its first season due to low ratings. Luckily, it went on for a long run, and is considered by many--including me--the best medical drama ever.

One of my all time favorite shows is Mythbusters, screw what others may say aobut how they hate it, Adult Swim shows, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, and there are these rare shows I do watch from time to time, Stan Vs. Evil, Syfy's Face off reality movie make up show. 90s cartoons on nick splat :)

I've always loved Mythbusters as well. They even disproved that "you can't polish a turd" What's not to love? :D

Speaking of Futurama and T.V. here is the much, promised drawing I did of Bender.

I like what I like too!
No reality stuff. That's just way out. I sort of go for oddball stuff on Amazon and CriminalMinds/NCIS/Black List--y stuff...]
I was a HUGE fan of crime shows, fictional: Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Law & Order: SVU, Criminal Minds, NCIS, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and tons of nonfiction shows about murder and other crimes. Then something weird happened...

While I was hospitalized [for six months], having come within, literally, hours of dying, I had the TV on all the time. Over time, I realized that those shows made me feel...weird, uneasy. I developed an actual aversion to seeing anything 'dark'--like murder, kidnapping, rape, child abuse. It became so bad that if a show, like SVU, came on, I'd grab the remote as fast as I could to change it.

Still, now, those shows are off limits for me. I had to delete a bunch of stuff from my DVRs' 'record' lists. I was particularly fond of Murder Book (whose cable channel escapes me right now), but it had to go, too.

I also took a long hiatus from news, but have recently started easing back into the local news and, occasionally, national.
