do you think over time android users will get quality apps like iphone users!?. I used to own an iphone and feel i had a better selection of apps... i miss my iphone alittle. i feel android is more flexible though, and has great potential.
Theres already apps that are ported from iPhone to Android (and vice versa)... so maybe you're unaware of that going on already. The one I'm awaiting the most is Layers (not Layar) to replace my DoodleDroid.
Also on a side note.. asking this type of question with exclamation points might register your post under some members' radars as a trolljob.
As the support for Android continues to climb like it has been, more and more companies will take notice and develop for the OS. Just recently Android overtook Apple in terms of how many users there are, which is a huge thing for the OS and its placement on companies' radar of platforms to develop for. Unfortunately, "porting" from iPhone to Android is not nearly as easy as the term "porting" usually suggests. It will be very easy to port an Xbox Live Arcade game to be used on a Windows 7 phone, as much of the code used in each is very similar. However, development for iPhone and development for Android are two different worlds. Because of this, taking an application that was written for the iPhone and converting it to be used on an Android device takes quite a bit of work, and almost involves a complete ground-up overhaul. So what this means is that it takes much much longer for an application to be cross-platformed.
I guess what I'm getting at is this - Give it some time! This OS is still in its infancy, despite how quickly it has been growing lately. The time for higher quality applications is here, but it wont happen overnight
While I agree that it takes time I think this is more a matter of will than any actual difficulty. There has been plenty of time to get apps out there but developers have to make it pay and I dont believe the interest was there starting out. Now that Android has taken off I think its reasonable to expect more activity in app development.
With Adobe CS5 it was going to be possible to develop one app then compile it for iPhone and for Android, the Steve (Blow) Jobs decided to put a stop to it by changing the T&Cs for iPhone app developers.
All about demand (which affects pricing as well as availability). I remember being annoyed when BB ports of iPhone apps could be five times as much at times.
All about demand and competition. I don't think Android will lag too long.
