Dock + Case

Lurker
I'm thinking of getting this dock:
Innodock Jr. Desktop Cradle, Black

or

USB Sync + Dock Cradle Charger for HTC Google Nexus One on eBay.ca (item 300447112471 end time 15-Aug-10 21:55:56 EDT)

The case I'm looking for is this:
Form fitting cases, hosters, covers, skins and accessories for Apple iPhone 4, iPhone 3G/3GS, BlackBerry, Google Phones, iPad, iPod, and MacBook in premium quality at Case-mate.

or

Innocase II Surface, Black

Now first thing.. how is the cases? Is it rubber or plastic? How easy is it to get it dirty?

And second question will the first case fit into the dock or will I have to remove it? Thanks.

Well, according to Seidio, their dock states that it's compatible with their skins and cases. I have no idea about the other one.

I actually bought two cases for my N1. Not so much to protect it but to get a better grip on the phone. I usually hate cases but this phone just feels so slippery to me I knew I had to get something grippy. That being said, I bought the rubber case with the tread pattern at Casemate and hated it. It attracted a lot of lint and dust and just looked silly IMO. It might have even stretched out since I remove my case every night.

Since I purchased the stock Google dock, I bought the Seidio Innocase II as you linked and love it. It's a hard plastic shell thats about 1mm or so thick and its coated with what seems like a slightly rubber coating on the outside, sort of like what you find on certain plastic BMW interior panels. I like how the camera lens is slightly recessed in the case and I like how the small lip on either side of the screen prevents the screen and trackball(somewhat) from touching the surface if placed on its down on its face.

The case simply slides from the top and bottom and clicks together and I have no problems taking it on and off when I place it in my dock at night. Just be sure to cut a small strip on either side of your screen protector before you put it on as the case 'will' lift the edges when slid on to the phone.

I can't say from experience but I'm not too crazy about the aftermarket usb docks since it just seems like it's asking for trouble if you knock over the phone on the charger. I doubt anyone would place the dock and phone at a place where it could be hit but I didn't feel comfortable with the mini usb jack taking the force/leverage if the phone was knocked over just right, say from behind when placed on the dock. Probably thinking too much but thats my logic behind that:p

BTW, I purchased my Innocase II from a Amazon Marketplace seller for $17 shipped about a month ago. That same seller has raised the price since but it's still cheaper than $29.99;)

@techdaring:
because the nexus one dock doesn't work with cases

@Kurisu:
Thanks for the input, I MIGHT grab the Seido dock and their Surface II case but I really would like a dock that will charge the phone and an extra battery at the same time.

Edit: Also how well is the case? Does it get dirty easily?

Would anyone else know what works and what doesn't? And any reviews if possible? Thanks :)
