Dock for car

I noticed the side of the my touch 4g has 3 small electronic contacts on it. A friend told me he believes that it's for some type of car dock for the gps and using the phone while driving. Can anyone verify this and if it is can you send me links to purchase one?

Charging contacts for a home or car dock. Phone is too new so no cool accessories to buy yet.
