Docking station question...

I have a question for you guys. I have the docking station connected to the tablet all of the time. I have noticed that even with the tablet off, the battery will continue to drain. Is this because the docking station is connected or is it a hardware issue? It

I think I read in a review that with the docking station connected the battery stats may not be accurate. I know that when connected the docking station charges the tablet; in other words, the tablet isn't running off the docking station's battery per se.

You didn't mention when or if you're charging either the tablet or the dock, which would be good to know. I haven't checked to see whether the dock will charge without the tablet.

When I connected the charger, the tablet was connected to the docking station. I got the orange light on the dock for charging and it went green when it was completed. When I removed the charger, the battery said it was at 100%. I am wondering if that was showing the battery life of the dock?

The tablet will only show the battery life on the tablet, and as I said that may not be reliable if you're docked. AFAIK there's no facility other than the LED on the dock for reading the battery level on the dock.

I dont know if this will help, but the dock does lose charge when unplugged and off. I read that it is a firmware issue and the last update was supposed to fix it but did not for me. I lose about 5% overnight.

I have also charged the dock without the tablet attached.

Thank you everyone for your responses. It just sucks that the battery drains when off. Its a good thing I always travel with my charger!

I have notced when I remove the tablet from the dock, the battery in the dock does not drain near as quickly even when totally powered down. So at night I power off completely and then remove the dock. I've gotten much better results doing that.

I have a battery life widget (but not the graphic one, mine is only text) and now I am back to only losing a few percentages overnight instead of 10-20 or so.

I did the same thing last night and only lost 3% on the tablet. That's about right for a bootup. So the dock definitely is discharging when connected and the tablet is powered down.

That's my main question. My tablet is always powered down, when I am not using it. It seems like a hardware issue with the dock, that the battery continues to drain when off. It's quite perplexing.
