Does any 3rd party keyboard have always there cursor keys?

One nice thing with the Evo is the always there cursor keys. I like some of the alternative keyboards but they all require toggling the ABC/123 key to get to cursor keys and then you have to go back to the keyboard to continue typing. It's quite annoying, and no matter how convenient they are (better key spacing, swype and what not), I just keep going back to stock for that convenience.

With the Evo being the first 4.3" screen, there is plenty of real estate to throw cursor keys in there with the keyboard as shown. I'd gladly pay for swype, better keyboard or keyboard pro (think that's the main ones), if they were able to do this.

Arrow keys!

I was a little lost for a minute there. Anyway, I rarely use them, so it never occurred to me that this was a problem. Go figure.
 
haha...arrow....cursor.... I edit quite a bit, and it's just easier if you can do it all via the keyboard and not have to touch more of the screen than you need to. Coming from a hard keyboard it's pretty much essential.
 
When I need to go back to something on my email or whatnot, I just tap where I want the cursor to go and work from there. I also have a hardware keyboard but I rarely use it now.
 
I always used the hardware keyboard on the moment and constantly used the hard arrow pad. If I'm in the middle of typing it's easier to keep the fingers on the keyboard. I touch type, I use shortcuts on the keyboard on the PC. It's just more efficient than typing, pressing on the screen, go back to typing and so on.

And the Moment's screen is tiny. You'd have room for one line of text if you added the arrow keys to the soft keyboard.

You going to drop it for the S Pro?
 
My upgrade is in December, so I think that'll give me time to think about what phone I want to get next. The EVO is nice, but I don't live in a 4G area (NYC of all places!) and I refuse to pay $10 for something I can't use.

The S pro will probably come out in July or August, so that'll give it time to work out the kinks before I buy again in December. I was a relatively early adopter of the Moment and while I haven't had the issues a lot of people have, a few things have irked me about this phone (poor speakerphone, GPS not picking me up, waiting what seemed like forever for 2.1).
 
Well you'll be paying $10 one way or the other. I'd bet all new "premier" phones will be 4g with newer media and data intensive capabilities that will require the $10 fee. But by December you'll at least have more options.

I ditched my Moment right after the 2.1 upgrade. Bought it day one. I guess I got a good one. Was relatively problem free, gps and all. 2.1 wasn't forever compared to Hero owners. I'm sure it was HTC holding up the works. Couldn't update the Samsung before the previous released Hero. That would've irked many.
 
Agreed. Hopefully by December my area will have 4G. T-Mobile has 4-G here, but I don't want to switch - although the MyTouch Slide does look nice!

Are there a lot of accessories for the EVO?
 
The Evo has a bunch of cases out, hdmi cables and such. It's not close to an iphone, but the phone has a lot of hype, and it's made by HTC so 3rd parties are jumping on board. There's a whole accessory forum in the Evo subforum to peruse through. You'll also have the Samsung Epic which is the galaxy s pro for Sprint. 4" screen, slider keyboard, 4g and so on...
 
On topic, have the developer for Smart Keyboard Pro taking a look to see if it's possible to implement. Would think with the Evo and Droid X, people would have some interest in having that option on the keyboard.
