The location of the power and volume switches on the 2013 Nexus 7 as much as I do?

Both of them are difficult to operate without turning the tablet so I can see them. They should be up on the edge of the back cover and protrude out a little more. Or, is there a way that I haven't discovered yet in my three days of ownership?

Forgive the misspelling of "Does". Can't edit the thread title?

They are certainly difficult to operate, though I have finally learned that if I come in at about a 45 degree angle, I can usually get the button to work.

Better yet, I now have a case with a magnet that turns it on and off without me needing to push the button, so that solves most of my problems.

I had the same issue, the buttons could have been better placed.

What helped me greatly was putting thin strips of anti-skid tape (the kind of tape used on concrete steps / top of skateboards) on the buttons. The tape made the buttons a little taller and the rough texture of the tape really lets you know your fingers are in the right position.

The tape is a couple of $'s per foot at most hardware stores, but you will less than an inch in this application.

Thanks guys.

I bought the 2012 7 first and then realized I'd made a mistake but its buttons were ideally placed and naturally easy to use. I took it back to WMT and they quickly exchanged it with just the $30 increase for the 2013 model.

They are really annoying Asus.

I'm not a fan of the new buttons but wouldn't go as far as hating them. They took some getting used to. I've got to try the anti-skid tape trick!

I agree with everybody, they need to fix this in the next version of Nexus!!! I have to hit the buttons from the back to get at them. Well, at least that beautiful screen makes up for it!!!
