I dialed *228, option 5 (metropcs), because I read in a thread that it might give me 3G (Miami). It didn't. But my battery has improved dramatically. When I get home from work (9 hrs) my battery usually reads 20-25%, but yesterday it was 70%. Today after 4 hours of regular use I'm at 90%. I didn't make any other changes to my phone. Total noob when it comes to cell phone tech. Is this possible?

That is for updating your PRL, has nothing to do with the battery, but by disabling GPs and if 3g is not on it conserve battery, making your battery last longer and also turning off background data also conserves battery.
