Root Does fastboot and ADB work on Windows 8.1?

I got a new laptop and it has Windows 8.1 installed and I would like to set up fastboot but I have heard it does not work on Windows 8 and I was wondering if that's true

Yes depending on your phone its a problem may require you to install manually . this can be done from cmd.
 
They will work when you get all the drivers from the device to the PC/laptop. Once the two devices begin communication then your fastboot will work .

under this you'll see a download link just download and extract everything to your fastboot folder and it should work. *you have to use the cmd that comes with the download*

Might keep this as a reference, I decided to run a virtual machine of Windows vista on my laptop and that seems to work fine as well for my rooting needs but thanks for finding this
