Root Does ROM Manager work for Samsung galaxy mini GT S5570?

I have already flashed clockworkmod recovery via Odin so lets get that out of the way. I just want to make a backup of my stock rom before I flash a custom rom in case something goes wrong. Will this work on galaxy mini? If not, how do I backup my stock rom? I know that clockworkmod recovery doesn't support backing up stock roms.

Hi qK0ng, and welcome to AF :)

No, there is a clear warning not to use ROM Manager in the All Things Root forum's Q&A thread, linked in the Galaxy Mini All Things Root Guide. ROM Manager is incompatible with the Mini, and will brick your phone.

Having said that, I don't know the Mini, but why can't you just use CWM to make a backup? The stock ROM is surely just a ROM?

Unfortunately no. Clockworkmod can't access some directory or something. The debs did on purpose as far as I know because rthey most people would just be flashing roms.

Interesting. Can you provide a reference?

Edit: OK, I found it. Samsung use a different filesystem from the normal linux filesystems. :(
