Help Does S3 support external mic?

[saeroner]

I have a couple mics. One condencer mic and a shotgun mic (from my camera) they both use 1/8inch (3.5mm) cables so they plug into the headphone jack. I can't seem to get it to record. I've DL like 3 apps but no go. Tried googling it and not really getting a straight answer.

i dont think so. the headphone jack is meant for headphone. or headphones with inline mics.

Me too, really want to figure this out! Anyone?
not sure if the s3 is different on it's pinouts, but it looks like there's a somewhat over priced external mic xrl/1/8 adapter available.
