I flashed a custom rom for the Lucid postpaid on my prepaid version and it says No SIM card, so I'd say its just blocked in software. The tricky part is getting to the sim card slot, which has a cover over it, but can be peeled off easily, then a bit of plastic is in the way, and you have to remove the fake plastic sim card so you can't put in a sim card unt you do all that and even after all that I have no idea if Verizon would even activate it with LTE or not. I do have a picture of what I did to my phone, but I still don't think I can post links yet.
