Does the feature of blue light filter really work?

And I wonder whether the feature is really effective and good for our eyes. :cool:
 
It's funny that different reasons are given for it. Your screenshots say it's to reduce eye strain, but these things really caught on as "night modes" (the theory being that blue light at night messes up sleep cycles, so you use a "sunset-like" colour palette in the evening to avoid this).

I've played with them, but can't really say I've noticed any effect personally. For eye strain I'd think the big thing would be not to turn the brightness up too high, but if you suffer from it then give it a go.
 
Yup.. i'm sceptical.. generally its the resolution of the screen / screen technology that seems to make a difference to me.

Higher res/ Kindle E-ink Display means I can read for longer... blue screen doesn't make any difference (except my brain keeps telling me its tinted, which distracts me).


Would be genuinely interested if anyone can point to any proper research around this though.
