Does the HTC desire HD suffer the same problem?

I came across a little problem this morning when I was playing with my HTC desire HD, where If I cover the bottom of the phone I loose a lot of radio signal strength ( I was using a app called Mobile signal widget) to view the signal strength of my provider, it dropped about 5 bars out of 9, when I hold the phone as if making/answering a phone call (bottom of phone), Same with wireless strength, held the top of the phone and I loose wifi signal strength, not sure if this is how it should work, but the same problem appeared with the iphone ?????????... any comments, try it and see....

Antennas for mobile signals are in the SIM cover.
Antennas for WiFi and Bluetooth are in battery cover.
Look for the gold "contacts" in the covers :)

I held the phone the same way but no change in any signal for me...all looked intact and perfect

Hi saj_2001ind, it will not show up in the original signal widget but if you run "Mobile signal widget", it free, you will see the effect..... it was just a query, I can see where the aerial is and not a very good design, but it works... please try it out with the above apps and let me know if the same happens to you.. thank

Interesting!
I've just tried wrapping my hands around the bottom of my phone. The mobile signal drops initially then recovers and shows as being stronger.
I'm guessing that this is because the phone increases the tx/rx power when the signal level is reduced!
